Perhaps not every heart will find
The one it dreamed of, intertwined.
Not every soul will meet its twin,
Or find a love to settle in.
Perhaps some paths are meant to wind
Beyond the love we hoped to find.
And some will walk beneath the stars
With no one’s hand entwined in ours.
We’ve grown to think that love must be
The final piece that sets us free.
That somewhere waits a perfect heart
To make us whole where we’re apart.
But what if we were never less?
Not empty hearts in need of rest.
What if the soul was born complete,
Without another’s heart to meet?
Perhaps the world has taught us wrong,
That love’s the place where we belong.
As though a life without romance
Were merely one unfinished dance.
But there is beauty in the dawn,
In finding strength to carry on.
In laughter shared, in kindness shown,
In building joy that’s all our own.
A thousand loves can fill a life,
Beyond the vows of man and wife.
The hands we hold, the lives we touch,
The little things that mean so much.
And maybe some will never know
The kind of love that poets show.
No grand embrace, no destined kiss,
No whispered vow of endless bliss.
Yet they may know a deeper peace,
A life where longing finds release.
Not from surrender or defeat,
But knowing life is still complete.
For love was never meant to be
The only measure of a dream.
And hearts that never find their pair
Still have a universe to share.
So if my soulmate never comes,
If all my searching ends with none,
I’ll still have lived, I’ll still have grown,
And made this fleeting world my home.
I’ll love the people passing through,
The morning skies, the evening blue.
I’ll give the warmth I hoped to find,
And leave a little light behind.
And should love find me, I’ll rejoice,
But not mistake it for my voice.
For I was someone long before
A lover ever reached my door.
Perhaps the greatest truth we’ll see
Is love need not complete the “me.”
And though two souls may quite align,
A life alone can be divine.
